Why moulding pressure matters

A hand-tamped block and a hydraulically moulded block can look similar on a pallet and behave very differently in a wall. Compaction pressure determines density; density drives durability, edge integrity and how much mortar and plaster the wall eventually absorbs.

Our units are formed under consistent hydraulic pressure from a batched mix, then transferred and cured under controlled conditions rather than left to dry in open sun. The commercial benefit is waste: fewer broken corners in handling, less dressing on site, and fewer surprises when the plasterer arrives.

Block sizes we produce

• 4 inch — internal partitions and non-load-bearing walls
• 6 inch — the general-purpose size for most walling in Zanzibar
• 8 inch — heavier sections, perimeter and retaining applications where specified

Ordering and lead time

Blocks are produced to order against your quantity and required date. Because curing is part of the process and cannot be shortened without affecting the unit, ordering ahead of the wall programme is the single most useful thing a site can do. Tell us the date the blocks are needed on site, not the date you would like to place the order.
