Aggregate size and grading guide

Aggregate selection starts with the application. Concrete aggregate must suit the mix, section thickness and spacing between reinforcement. A sub-base needs a crushed, well-graded material that can compact and interlock. Drainage normally needs clean material with enough void space for water movement.

Do not choose aggregate only by appearance or load price. Send the specification when one exists; otherwise describe the element or layer being built so the quotation can identify the intended use clearly.

Aggregate sizes & specifications

Build Hub supplies aggregate to project specifications including 5–10 mm and 15–25 mm crushed stone. Finer 5–10 mm material is commonly requested for thinner sections and closely reinforced concrete; 15–25 mm is commonly requested for general structural and mass concrete.

The correct grading is always confirmed against your mix design or application. Where an engineer or mix design sets the aggregate, follow it — we confirm the supplied size on the written quotation and do not make structural claims beyond what the design specifies.

Aggregate is quoted per m³ and delivered by the truckload.
